Fuji is relatively new to the Flint area. There has been a lot of hype about how great it was. I had to to go check it out myself.
The focal point of the whole place is the sushi bar. I do have to admit that it's pretty nice.
I expected the decor to be a little classier than it was, but was still better than average. The wait staff as it is with most Asian restaurants was very friendly and on top of things.
If it's sushi you want, then this is the place to go to get your fill. They have a very wide assortment. The sushi bar staff is constantly making fresh product for the bar. Now I'm not a sushi expert seeing that I had just tried sushi for the first time a few months ago, but to me the sushi tasted pretty darn good.
However, the rest of the buffet was mediocre at best. I can think of a couple places locally that have a much better buffet. The spring rolls were weak, The salmon dry, and they didn't have a large selection of appetizer offerings. The White Tuna was excellent, large variety of decent shrimp & seafood dishes, 5 or 6 types of soup, very large fruit and salad selections and looked really appetizing and fresh. Then they had some of the usual findings.
There is a plethera of desserts on the desert bar that were far better than what you would find at a normal buffet.
With the dinner prices for a children 10 and under being $8 if they don't eat sushi and $10 if they do; it does not make much sense to bring your child to this place unless they do eat sushi. The price for adults is $20 if you eat sushi and $18 if you don't. The price does include one strip steak if you like that they will cube up and stir fry it to your liking. If you want any additional steaks, it will cost you another $6 per steak. The lunch prices are much cheaper.
If you're craving some good sushi and don't care too much about the buffet portion, then this is a worth while place to go. If you are wanting a good buffet, then I suggest going to another cheaper local buffet that will easily have the same quality food at a lessor price.
I will return there when I want some decent sushi.
If you want a good Asian meal: I would skip the buffets all together and go to one of the many very nice restaurants in the area that offer some amazing dishes like "The Canton", "The Empress of China", and "The Lotus Room". I will have separate reviews of those places in the future.
